Gutter Cleaning across Dorset

Blocked gutters cleared and flushed so rainwater flows freely — before damp becomes a problem.

Leaves, moss and silt build up in gutters over time, and once they block, rainwater spills down your walls — leading to damp, stained render and, eventually, real structural problems.

We clear gutters thoroughly and flush them through to make sure water runs freely again, checking the downpipes while we’re there. It’s a small job that quietly prevents some very expensive ones.

What's involved

  • A check of gutters, joints and downpipes
  • Full clearing of leaves, moss and silt
  • A flush-through to confirm free flow
  • Downpipes checked for blockages

Common questions

Gutter Cleaning FAQs

How often should gutters be cleaned?

Most UK homes benefit from a gutter clear once or twice a year — ideally in late autumn once the leaves have finished falling, and again in spring if the property sits near trees. Homes with overhanging branches or a lot of roof moss may need it more often.

How do I know my gutters are blocked?

The tell-tale signs are water spilling over the edge in heavy rain, drips from joints, green staining down the wall below the gutter line, or grass and weeds actually growing out of the gutter itself. Any of these means it is time for a clear.

Do you need scaffolding to clean gutters?

Rarely. Most gutter clearing can be done safely from the ground, which keeps disruption — and cost — to a minimum. Where access is more awkward we use the appropriate access equipment.

Do you check the downpipes too?

Yes. After clearing the gutters we flush them through to confirm water is flowing freely and check the downpipes for blockages, so the whole run is working — not just the visible part.

What happens to the waste?

All the leaves, moss and silt are bagged up and taken away with us, so there is nothing left on your paths, beds or lawn.

What if you find damage?

We check the gutters, joints and downpipes as part of the job, and if we spot anything that needs attention — a failed joint, a sagging bracket — we will point it out so you can get it sorted before it causes damp problems.
