There's a saying - people do business with people.
That's why I feel that it is important to tell you good folk how Robertson Exterior Cleaning came to be.
My name is Adam Robertson, and prior to August 2013 I was a professional falconer. If you've never heard of a falconer or falconry before quite simply, a falconer is one who trains and flys birds of prey.
In my case I flew hawks, falcons, eagles, owls, and vultures at some of the UK's largest country shows and game fayres alongside a good friend of mine (he was also my boss).
Professional falconry is however very seasonal and at some point I remember having a good chat with my Dad who suggested that starting my own company and therefore becoming my own boss would be a much better way of paying the bills.
So after doing some research on business ideas, we discovered the "skyVac" Gutter vacuum system - a method of gutter clearance which allowed the cleaning of gutters completely from the ground.
Having been involved in Health & Safety for many years, it was Dad who pointed out that such methods that allowed the user to carry out the cleaning operation from the ground were always going to be viewed more favourably than other methods that required the use of a ladder.
Additionally the "skyVac" method utilised technolgy in the form of high definition cameras mounted on inspection poles that allowed the user to not only monitor the job as it progressed, but also allowed the client to see for themselves the debris within the gutters. Quite simply though, it moved gutter cleaning into the 21st century.
This is where I began trading as "Vac Clean" - the first name of what would later become Robertson Exterior Cleaning.
The company began to develop into a more rounded exterior cleaning company after adding driveway and patio cleaning, solar panel cleaning and roof cleaning to the offering of cleaning services and I felt that name change was needed to reflect the nature of the business.
After much deliberation, I decided that I wouldn't go far wrong simply using my surname as part of my company name. It sounded good but most importantly to me, it was quite literally putting my name to my work.
I pride myself on customer service and as clichéd as it sounds, I am not happy unless my customers are. I always aim to explain our methods as precisely as possible so that our customers always know exactly what to expect. Of course, if anyone ever needs further information on any aspect of what we do, they need only ask.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and I look forward to working with you in the future
-Adam Robertson
